On May 3rd, at the Fairfax City Senior Center, Fairfax Lions offered free vision screening. The vision screening was part of the kick-off events to Older Americans Month run by Fairfax City at the Senior Center.
The Lions were very pleased 14 people participated in this screening, including Fairfax City Mayor David Meyer. Of the 14, five persons were referred to an optometrist for vision care. It only takes a few minutes to be screened; Fairfax Lions are pleased to offer this community service.

Lion Presents Results of Vision Screen
The screening camera used is “Spot Vision Screener,” a handheld, portable device designed to help users quickly and easily detect vision issues on patients from 6 months of age through adult. “Spot” screens both eyes at once from a nonthreatening 3-foot distance.
