Fairfax Lions support the Lions Project for Canine Companions (read about it at this link).  FX Lions make an annual donation, typically presented at the annual Dog Fest event in Reston. On Oct 5th, Fairfax Lions Harry and Lion Greg presented our Club’s donation to this wonderful charity.

Fairfax Lions completed a vision and hearing screening event at St. Leo the Great Catholic school in Fairfax on October 8th.  We did vision screening for 56 students, with 2 referrals, and hearing screening for 55 students, with 7 referrals. 

The School Nurse sent this after action note: “Thank you again for helping with this year’s hearing and vision screening. One of the students who did not pass their hearing screening was seen by an audiologist and was diagnosed with bilateral hearing loss. She will be getting hearing aids in the near future. Our first big “catch” for hearing in 6 years.”

On September 17th, the American Red Cross collected blood donations at Providence Presbyterian Church in Fairfax City. Fairfax Lons joined other donors giving the gift of life saving blood.
