Why give blood? Every two seconds, someone in the US needs blood.  Blood donations are used for patients needing surgery, cancer treatment, or transfusions for blood loss from traumatic injuries.  This lifesaving care starts with one person making a donation. The need is constant, and only about 3% of age-eligible people donate blood yearly.  YOU can help assure blood supply meets demand!!!

On February 13th, a team of parents, school nurse, and Fairfax Lions screened children’s vision and hearing at St Luke Catholic School. This community service was rewarding, as several children were referred for professional follow-up testing.

Lions Clubs follow Helen Keller’s challenge, many years ago, when she asked: “I appeal to you Lions, you who have your sight, your hearing, you who are strong and brave and kind. Will you not constitute yourselves Knights of the Blind in this crusade against darkness?”
