New Lion Member Honored

On Sunday, April 24, the overarching management activity for all Lions clubs in northern VA conducted an honorary induction ceremony for Lions who have joined in the past year.  Lion Mark Salesses – a new member  of Fairfax Lions Club – participated in the event, joined by his spouse Laurie and Fairfax Lions Club membership chair Rodney Neely.  It was indeed a pleasure to stand up with Mark at the ceremony!

“Shiloh Project” Speaks to Fairfax Lions

Posted on April 21, 2016Comments are off

Fairfax Lions Club dinner meetings feature an invited speaker.  We try to invite a wide range of local activites to bring a broad spectrum of information to club members.

For example, Nancy Katz Triplett, Ashley Corbit, and Michelle Harman of The Shiloh Project spoke to the Fairfax Lions Club on April 19th.  Nancy is Shiloh’s founder/president.  In highly supervised settings, Shiloh brings recently rescued dogs into juvenile residential facilities where students train, socialize and help prepare the dogs for adoption.  Last night we saw a demonstration of how to approach a strange dog, observe the dog’s motions and expressions, and how to interact.

Guests are always welcome to visit our club and enjoy the dinner speakers.  Of course we hope to interest guests in our service mission.  We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays each month.  If you are interested, please contact us thru this web site….click the CONTACT US menu tab at the top of this page.
